Basic Numbers (1–10):

  1. אחד (Echad) – One (masculine)


    אחת (Achat) – One (feminine)

  2. שניים (Shnayim) – Two (masculine)

  3. שלושה (Shlosha) – Three (masculine)


    שלוש (Shalosh) – Three (feminine)

  4. ארבעה (Arba'a) – Four (masculine)

  5. חמישה (Chamisha) – Five (masculine)


    חמש (Chamesh) – Five (feminine)

Thousands (1,000 and Beyond):

  • 1,000: אלף (Elef)

  • 2,000: אלפיים (Alpayim)

  • 3,000: שלושת אלפים (Shloshet Alafim)

  • 4,000: ארבעת אלפים (Arba’at Alafim)

  • Continue similarly by adding the prefix for the number of thousands.

Combining Numbers

To form compound numbers, combine the tens with the units:

  • 21: עשרים ואחת (Esrim Ve'achat) – Twenty-one

  • 35: שלושים וחמש (Shloshim Ve'chamesh) – Thirty-five
